This is byteLAKE, boom!

We offer AI products: AI-accelerated CFD for the chemical industry and AI-assisted process monitoring for the paper industry, and manufacturing. Besides, we offer custom AI software development services related to text, images, videos, sound, and time-series data analytics.

byteLAKE’s AI-powered products for the chemical industry, paper mills, and manufacturing.

Few years ago we started byteLAKE as a software services company specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High-Performance Computing (HPC). Through comprehensive research efforts and various projects we delivered across industries, we have been gradually becoming more of a product company though. …

Recently, StartUs Insights, has published a report called: “Discover 5 Top Startups working on Computational Fluid Dynamics”. It reads: “Curious about new technological advancements in the manufacturing industry? Explore our analysis of 441 global startups & scaleups and learn how their computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solutions impact your business!” and the announcement on their website starts with a statement that I could not agree more with: “Staying ahead of the technology curve means strengthening your competitive advantage.” and then the article continues […] “This time, you get to discover 5 hand-picked startups developing computational fluid dynamics solutions.

Presentation: AI for CFD

Industries leverage CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to ensure proper chemical mixing, when building aerodynamics models and even when producing a toothpaste, a shower gel, or drugs. Such simulations take time and in the case of chemical mixing, it typically is 4–8 hrs. Learn how you can use AI (Artificial Intelligence) to reduce time to results for CFD simulations from hours to minutes.

Średni koszt nieplanowanych przestojów dla przemysłu papierniczego wynosi 220 000 USD dziennie (International Journal of Strategic Engineering Asset Management).

Koszty inspekcji jakościowej rosną a jednocześnie wiele branż boryka się z ograniczonym dostępem do wykwalifikowanego personelu. Niska jakość produktów i ograniczony monitoring procesów wytwórczych negatywnie wpływają na zadowolenie klientów, reputację firmy itp. Słabe liczenie produktów oznacza straty (gratisy = dajemy zbyt wiele) lub rozczarowanych klientów (wysłaliśmy…

This is a typical question my team at byteLAKE is asked every time we only even mention the notorious acronym AI (Artificial Intelligence) in a sentence. In the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) context, this is a very valid concern as the CFD world is mostly using CPU-only architectures to run their simulations. There are, however, some efforts and products that can help you accelerate such simulations with accelerators like GPUs or FPGAs. BTW, we have tried that route at byteLAKE (a story about which you can read in my previous posts i.e. Nevertheless, the efforts needed, the costs, and…

My team at byteLAKE has analyzed the performance of byteLAKE’s CFD Suite (Computational Fluid Dynamics accelerated with Artificial Intelligence), an HPC application, across various configurations, incl. single node (server) with 2 Intel CPUs and 2 NVIDIA GPUs, and many nodes of a CPU-only cluster (HPC). The report below summarizes CFD Suite’s scalability with Intel technologies for AI models training and OpenVINO-optimized inferencing.

CFD Suite (AI-accelerated CFD)

CFD Suite is a perfect example where AI (Artificial Intelligence) and HPC (High Performance Computing) converge into a complete solution, changing the simulations into predictions and delivering immediate or ultra-fast results. Each AI model we add to the collection has been carefully designed, trained and calibrated by a team of world-class…

The International Society of Automation estimates that almost every plant loses at least 5% of production due to downtime. Many may lose as much as 20%. The cost to the global processing industry alone is estimated at USD $20 billion.

The average cost of unplanned downtime is USD $220,000 a day for a paper or pulp plant (International Journal of Strategic Engineering Asset Management).

Industries face the growing cost of manual inspections & limited access to qualified personnel. Poor quality of products and processes inspections affects customer satisfaction, reputation, etc. Poor counting of products means losses (freebies) on one hand…
